- Details of your energy supply: current supplier, contract end date, notice period, number of sites
- Any bills or documents you upload
- Where you found our website (for example, a search engine or a directory listing), if you've accepted cookies
How we use it and why
- To respond to your enquiry and review your energy costs, because you've asked us to (steps before entering a contract)
- To contact you ahead of your contract renewal, if you've agreed to this (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
- To obtain quotes from energy suppliers on your behalf, once you've signed a Letter of Authority
- To understand which of our listings and articles bring people to us, if you've accepted cookies (consent)
Who we share it with
We share your details with energy suppliers only when you've authorised us to obtain quotes or manage a switch. Our website host and email provider store data on our behalf. We don't sell your information or pass it to other brokers.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for up to two years from our last contact with you, and client records for six years after our work ends, for legal and accounting purposes. Renewal reminders are deleted if you ask us to stop contacting you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email info@smartsourcesavings.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
